Carlos Miranda is a great leader and such an amazing person. He is really supportive and brings your energy up. He also really believes that he was chosen to become a leader due to his hard work and dedication. Carlos has really improved in places and is an amazing leader at NHH. 

 Someone who is a leader and is willing to take those extra hours of the day to dedicate his work and time to show the type of person he truly is. He has accomplished things throughout his days and is willing to show up with energy and help out kids at Neighborhood Homework House. He attended APU and majored in Sociology and he has never given up regardless of the challenges he has faced. Carlos is always making sure he learns from his failures and mistakes. Carlos Miranda takes his time helping out students. 

Carlos Miranda states that he was chosen to become a leader due to his hard work and dedication which is really appreciated. He is willing to take his hours out of his days and dedicate it to working and volunteering hours. He thinks that volunteering has helped him become a leader now. Even though he has failed many times, he has never given up and continues to thrive. He takes them as lessons and thinks those opportunities have made him become a better person. Working as a leader at Neighborhood Homework House in Azusa has impacted his life in a positive way such as putting himself in other people’s shoes and listening to different opinions whether it is coming from our community or family members. 

He believes that this program; Neighborhood Homework house, exists to help out people and problems in society. If there are times where conflicts are going on  and they aren’t avaivlabe to provide solutions, they furnish support to others. Carlos says that working there has been super resorucful for him and has helped him improve his leadership skills including his time management skills. 

    Carlos Miranda absolutely appreciates everything the community has to offer and he really does think this is his passion and will probably continue to work here and still dedicate his time to others. He really is someone you would want to work with and have as a leader because he really is someone who takes his job seriously and is willing to dedicate and to work hard everyday. 

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

“ I see myself in 5 years hopefully being a dean of students , basically dealing with behaviors, setting up events for kids and their families.” 

Do you think these opportunities have helped you grow as a person? 

“ These opportunities have helped me a lot especially to grow as a person because although I have failed at interviews, it has helped me have more experience and confidence in myself. I really do appreciate the mistakes I have made because I am now a better leader.” 

Having this job, do you think your skills have improvised here?

“This job has helped me improve my leadership skills and my time management skills. It has really helped me how to lead a community and my public speaking skills have gotten better due to this job giving me the confidence to grow in these skills. Meeting deadlines, project management, and how to recruit have really improvised.”
